You may be horrified after hearing terrible news about the travel industry. In so many cases, travellers get clogged up looking forward to their first business trip, holiday, or family reunion. Being fed up with the delayed airlines, it has been disappointing to read that the government blames the airlines for the current operational challenges - the number of passengers was down 55 per cent due to facing such an issue. Ultimately, today’s traveller has bought their ticket in good faith and wants to get away as seamlessly as possible.

Let’s start with the underrated travel tips:

  1. Avoid carrying more luggage

This is a common tip, still, people repeat the same mistakes until they don’t come up with a bad experience. If you are travelling with someone or with your family, avoid carrying more than one suitcase. If you are having more bags, the chances of the suitcase missing are at an all-time high. All you need to do is manage what you have carried and just all the way.

  1. Have backup plans

If you are worried about your flight being cancelled, make sure you decide in advance whether you are going to reschedule your holiday or take a staycation instead. Most businesses should be flexible about letting you work your plans ahead of time should put your mind at ease. Ensure that you have got fallback plans at home.

  1. Get hooked on books

Choose your reading material wisely. Sitting in a crowd already got disappointed with late flights, get a book that keeps you away from the chaos. Stock up on books that hold your attention. Books like The Girls by Emma Cline, and Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Marisha Pessl. The Goldfinch by Dorina Tartt is all places to start.

A travel delay gives you a chance to do some pre-trip research. It is a good time to upgrade yourself, not trying to be master at something but to expand your knowledge. Learn relevant to your skill or hobbies. Also, learn language or languages. You are not going to become fluent in Italian via Duolingo. You can get basic words or follow tricks. Such as saying hello, goodbye, and gelato, please. Frankly, you should learn to say basic words like sorry, thank you, and please are imperative where you go around the world.

Additionally, before heading off to the airport, you must be familiar with the most up-to-date passport, visa, vaccination, and Covid requirements for where you are travelling to.

Put your favourite subscriptions

You don’t need to suffer in flight. Download your favourite Netflix series to make your travelling less boring. Relevant to travel or food such as Ugly Delicious, Chef’s Table, and Street Food are all brilliant. Podcasts are another option for whiling away a few hours. If you are feeling completely overwhelmed - temporarily escape the field according.

Show compassion

. Also, try and remember to be kind to yourself, and don’t let a delay or small error ruin your overall experience.

It is challenging to look normal when you are stressed, but it makes for a far nicer experience when you are helpful and kind with your other travel companions, and the people who are trying under immense pressure to get us away. It is okay to go through this situation. Take deep breaths and understand the situation. Just be kind to yourself, and don’t let this bad experience spoil your overall thrill.
